1. What inspired you to write? I’ve written all of my life. I like being creative so that could be song lyrics, poems, scripts and more. Since I got into teaching I found I was writing short stories for my lessons. It was only when a pupil commented on my work saying it was like a real author had written it that I decided to do something about it.
2) Are you a reader? What are some of your favorites? I don’t read books too much but when I do it is usually history related. So it could be historical fiction or non-fiction books. Thr last favourite book I read was Sapiens. My all time favourite book is To Kill A Mocking Bird.
3) What is your newest work, and what is going to happen in the future? My latest book which is produced is ‘ The Girl who could be anything’. I’ve written to books previously. BOG…the ogre in the cellar and The Manchester Bee. I have two other books written and are starting to be produced shortly. I write children’s picture books. I actually think my next book is my best.
4) Do you have advice or tips for Indie Authors? Research, research, research. I read and follow so many sites, articles, etc. I’ve learnt so much and feel I could guide someone following a similar path to me now. I still don’t know everything and don’t pretend I do. I’m learning all of the time! 5) What influenced you as a writer? Julia Donaldson definitely influenced my writing and the illustration style. I also think back to stories I enjoyed as a child and have those in mind when I’m writing. Being a teacher too, I can’t help but include an underlying theme that relates to kindness, celebration and compassion. **** post answers and book cover on this post!!!
